Hours and days of time spent as a child playing pretend with these plastic molds of honestly cheap junk. It didn’t matter to him, it was time well spent. As he dug through the poorly organized pile in the cardboard box he came across the crown jewel from his treasure trove, a Digivice toy from the franchise known as Digimon. He almost hopped with joy, shocked that he hadn’t lost the device years back when he was still a kid. Here it was though, staring him in the face and looking as cool as ever. You could say James was a super-fan of Digimon. The series told stories of kids and teens going on adventures with fantastical, sentient cartoon monsters, finding themselves in combat across various locals both in the real world and the chaotic digital world.   High upon the towering hills and peaks of a land called Liyue, sat an abundance of shrines and temples seemingly frozen in time. So far removed from the outside world and being difficult to traverse kept untouched by the common tourists and rabble that would have otherwise flocked to see their serene beauty. They were a perfect picture of a bygone era, kept alive by the few who still tended to them. Every aspect of these locations was kept as pristine as they could manage, replacing artifacts a regular occurrence every few decades. One such artifact, a couple of binding ropes meant for dulling the cursed, violent energy said to be sealed within a blessed stone, was due for replacement, a new one having been made and shipped to the shrine. “Is this the package young one?” the elder shrine attendant asked.
