A Dragon's Heart

--artwork by Ahnei--

AGE 6

“Wow, look! See how high they are father!?” The small child Grea called out, tugging at the cuff of her father’s lavish coat. He was the king of Arboria, a kingdom surrounded by impressive mountain ranges from all sides. The landscape proved effective as a natural defense against other nations, but came with its own worries. They were the dwellings of many Dragons, creatures that they had been at war with for as long as their kingdom existed.

King Ghamuret showed a look of grave concern seeing his child stare with wanderlust towards the imposing creature above. He knew well of their dangers, how many of his people they had lost trying to purge the lands of the foul, flying lizards. Grea was usually such a quiet girl too, often unsure on how to speak up and her mind, yet the mere sight of a dragon sent her into an excited ramble. He tried his best to pound some discipline into her head, that these were creatures to be feared, but to no avail.

“Stifle your words child! Have I not instilled in you the nature of such wretched beasts!” King Ghamuret shouted, yanking perhaps too hard at his daughter’s arm. She got the message immediately and retracted into her usual timid shell, though with far more somber a look.

“They have killed our people, set fire to our people’s homes. You may be blessed and blind to their reign as you reside within the castle, but these creatures are pure evil. You must heed my warnings Grea. Dragons be our mortal enemy.”

AGE 12

“Father will kill me if he knew I ventured so far from home. Yet chances such as these do not come often.” Grea mumbled to herself, quietly making her way through the brush out towards a clearing. She had snuck out of the castle and surrounding town’s perimeter at dead of night through a secret evacuation tunnel she had discovered. Her target was in sight.

Grea was relieved to see the same young looking dragon from the last time she had been, sleeping near a large twisting tree. She figured it must be a favorite spot of theirs. Looking at the pattern of the scales on its body she determined it was indeed the same dragon that allowed her company last time. She wasn’t an expert, but she had been studying many books on dragons back home and was growing privy to what unique identifiers could be used to distinguish them between each other.

The dragon heard her approach and craned its long neck forward towards the bite-sized girl. She couldn’t tell if the dragon remembered her or not, but it reacted calmly to her presence, letting her step closer. Grea did have a gift to offer, a large slab of steak left from dinner—surely a dragon couldn’t resist. Ever the nervous girl, she felt strangely at peace and brimming with confidence once she reached the head of the mighty creature, their nostrils casting a breeze upon her with each breath that blew her hair like the valley winds.

Giggling, Grea’s restrained expression came alive into a wide smile. She then placed the steak before the giant lizard and waited patiently seated before it. It merely stared at her for a bit, studying her as she attempted to talk with it in a pleasant tone. Eventually she resorted to merely humming some of her favorite songs she heard from the lute players back in the kingdom. The dragon, soothed by the young maidens voice, partook in her gift. Then very carefully she placed a hand on the Dragon’s snout, her heart fluttering with excitement.

Staring into the dragon’s eyes, there was an unmistakable glimmer of fascination in them towards the stories she told and the songs she sang. Everyone had it wrong. These creatures could understand humans, they had souls and complexities like any of her own. Sure, conflict was unavoidable among two such powerful beings, but this proved that humans and dragons could reach a common peace, that understanding was possible. It was truly a magical night for the young girl, who felt more at peace around this terror of humanity, this magnificent specimen of nature, than she ever did piled under the stresses and expectations of her home.

She had stayed out far later than she should have however, almost to dawn. By the time she came back her lies to explain herself proved futile. King Ghamuret knew full well she had gone searching for. Her obsession was well known. Despite pleas to her mother Grea was harshly punished that night.

AGE 16

Grea wobbled, spear in hand, as she pointed it at the neck of a Dragon brought down from the skies before her by her father’s hunting crowd. She did her best to fight back the tears, knowing what she was being asked to do. The last few years had been torture. She was under watchful eyes and forced to play the role of new leader being groomed. Obviously this meant dealings with dragons. She firmly kept to her duties and tried her best to calmly articulate her misgivings towards the handling of the creatures she so loved in meetings, only to be laughed at or scorned by the council. She just had to bide time until she was ruler though, then she could change things from within! At least, that is what she had hoped…

“Do it Grea. Only one thrust to the neck be needed to end this cur.” The king grimly encouraged, placing his hands onto his daughter’s trembling ones.

The expression of the weakened dragon before her showed resentment in the curl of its mouth and show of its fangs. Yet the eyes staring straight at Grea displayed commiseration towards her plight, as if it knew this choice was not her own, her fear and anguish evident.

“T-This is wrong father! Can you not see!? We be the monsters attacking the--!”

The spear plunged into the neck of the downed goliath, a brief, pained yelp escaping Grea’s lips as her own hands, guided by the motions of her father, did the deed. She quickly let go and stood emotionless, the light in her eyes going dead as rain began to fall, the skies surely weeping over the pointless loss of life. The cold rain was the only consolation she received, sending fake tears down her face as she was too in shock to muster any of her own.

“Come Grea. We must head home.” King Ghamuret said in his usual stern voice, not a lick of sympathy shown over what was merely a common, necessary action for him.

She took her time to move, the first steps so incredibly hard. She thought back to the wonderful nights she had in that clearing with her dragon friend under the moonlit sky.

Softly she whispered, “Home…”

AGE 20

Grea had become resigned to her role. Happiness would not be hers, nor would there exist any for the dragons they so ruthlessly hunted. She desperately prayed that the creatures would leave the lands so that they’d not be at risk. However, she knew it was their home just as much as any other who lived here. There was no method to the madness, nothing was used from their corpses, a fruitless hunt. They were treated as nothing more than a blight upon the land.

She handled herself as she should and stayed quiet since the day of her first killing. She was eventually forced to kill again of her own accord, which she did regrettably. The only thing that had brought her true joy before was now an endless punishment. Now, she was watching yet another about to die.

The large, radiant red dragon, growled in anger toward the knights restraining it, about to unleash its flames before its mouth was tied shut by thick rope. The King himself then stepped forward with the usual weapon of choice, a giant spear and aimed for the neck. Grea raised her head, ready to numb herself once more to the sight. That is when she noticed a familiar pattern of scales upon the dragon.
Grea’s heart began to race in a panic. It was the Dragon from her childhood! With this realization all the barriers she had put up around her aching heart were shattered and it took a mere instant for her to make a decisive decision. To her this Dragon was the only true friend and family she had at this point, the only one who treated her as who she really was. They didn’t deserve to die, she couldn’t lose the one cherished light left in her life!

“STOOOOP!!”

Grea leaped swiftly in front of the spear thrust by the King, a fiery, defiant look in her eyes burrowing down on her father as she readied herself for his strike. The King was in utter shock, it too late for him to halt his jab. He pierced his daughter through the upper left shoulder, the spearhead coming out through the other side.

The Dragon’s eyes went wide staring at the now limp Grea in front of them. She turned toward the Dragon, forcing as reassuring a smile as she could and placed her hand softly on his snout. Familiar, happy memories arose within the Dragon as well, the two souls remembering their time together.

“It’s… going to be…”

Grea passed out, her skin losing its color fast. This sent the Dragon’s own heart racing as well, but not in panic, but in fury. They struggled against their bindings, flexing and swaying with all their might, yanking the ropes staked to the ground and snapping the bindings around their jaw. The knights quickly retreated while the Dragon let out a thunderous roar, spraying fire several yards out in front of them, creating a perimeter.

The king was in such disbelief he couldn’t even think of what to do next, what order to give. He watched the Dragon lift his daughter onto its back and fly away with her. For all he knew, she was dead by his own hands.

***

Dappled pockets of light swam under Grea’s eyelids, awaking her from what felt like a long sleep. As her eyes slowly opened she saw a vast and familiar blue sky, riddled with thin clouds. It reminded her of her youth, when she would often lie on her back in the castle garden and stare up at the sky, hoping to see a Dragon fly b— The Dragon!

Grea sat up harshly, grabbing at her shoulder while she frantically looked around her. She was sitting naked in a shallow spring in the middle of a meadowy expanse, bordered by blankets of flowers colored the same purple as her short, choppy, wavy hair which was quickly drying under the blistering, yet welcoming rays of the sun. Her long, wet bangs parted out of the way of her eyes into their usual position, the stragglers in the middle fashioning into a point that ran between her eyes and down to a side of her nose. Close to her by the bank was the red-scaled Dragon. Her body was filled with a comforting warmth where she expected there to be a deep wound. Nothing remained but her usual soft, creamy skin—made even smoother and more enriched by the healing waters. She at least assumed they were healing, having read about watering holes where Dragons often resided that possessed magical qualities said to heal and strengthen the body.

Gazing at the Dragon who had saved her, tears that had long been buried finally flowed freely. Grea cried relentlessly, feeling somewhat ashamed after a while that she couldn’t stop. What started as tears of relief, eventually became ones of joy, a smile returning to her face for the first time in years. The Dragon wishing to comfort her, pressed their face against the crying Grea, halting her tears. She hugged the affectionate being close like if it were family, feeling all the pent up fear wash away, but simultaneously making the guilt over her actions towards Dragons over the last few years more gut-wrenching.

Trying to pull away she said, “I, I don’t deserve this.” The Dragon stayed insistent with its nuzzling.
“All will be fine.” a booming, comforting, masculine voice reverberated within her head.

Grea stood back a bit, realizing that the Dragon had just telepathically spoke with her. She just knew, unable to think of any other explanation. She felt a deep bond that connected her to his feelings. There was a mixture of wonder and uncertainty over all of the events quickly unfolding, but the more the Dragon spoke to her, the sharper the woes of her heart were lifted, a ever growing love for not only Dragons, but the Dragon before her specifically. The happiness was intoxicating, perhaps because she had never bonded in such a way with anyone, truly felt love for and by another to this degree. There was a complete understanding of each other’s hearts.

True, Grea had read about long ago myths of Dragon’s forming mental bonds with humans, but they were all passed around as mere legends. But it was true! Humans and Dragons really could come to an understanding! With this she could—!

Grea turned down, her smile weakening as she realized she could never go back to her Kingdom. She had gotten her hopes up for a moment that this breakthrough for her could be a bridge to build between humanity and Dragons.

“No longer shall you worry over such things my love.” The Dragon Egan—the name planting itself in her head—insisted to her. The word of love causing the timid Grea to blush. She commanded her beating heart to cease, causing Egan to laugh and playfully nudge her off her feet into the water.

“I so longed for the day I would see you again.” Egan lovingly said, his voice powerful yet tender.
It didn’t take long for Grea to further embrace these growing feelings and reply, “I... Yes, me as well.”

Grea was so embarrassed, wondering how her feelings could be evolving to such desperate love so fast. I mean she’d always admired Dragon’s sure, but how—?

Looking down at her hands resting in the water she saw an interesting sight on her right hand. The skin was becoming rough and scaly and turning a red-orange color, with darker red splotch like patterns. It all reminded her of Egan’s…

“Some fear is understandable my Grea, but rejoice. Your body awakens through the powers of these waters. It does not mistake what lies in your heart.” Egan explained.

“In my… heart.”

Grea’s fear faded quickly thanks to the words of her lov-er… Dragon. It was becoming hard to deny the growing thoughts pushing into her head. She felt so right here, seeing the flesh of something she had long admired form upon her own skin. It wasn’t so much separate from herself that she thought of herself as more Dragon than human, but she found far more beauty in Dragon’s than her own species.

“You are beautiful as you are my Grea. Your body merely adapts. To what both our hearts desire…”

There was a brief, tranquil pause, the water still aside from the gentle ripples stirred by the silent breeze.

Egan continued, “Your eyes have tortured me all these years. I coveted them like treasure, yearned for their flame.”

Grea knew what he meant. Everyone gawked at her eyes, often commenting that their orange and red brilliance reminded them of flickering fire. The compliments had become trivial to her after a while, yet coming from Egan it stirred her soul.

“I know not what to say?” Grea whimpered as a lust began to fill her loins, a primal desire seemingly growing out of nowhere. His words made her feel safe, loved, accepted. These feelings, she no longer wanted to be free of them. If this was the happiness that awaited her, she accepted whatever lied within her heart.

While on her hands and knees watching the scales of red crawl up her right arm, her pussy growing wet at the sight, Grea softly continued, “Egan I… I believe I, love you. I… I love you!”

“I love you as well. Since the day you first gave me your songs. I knew you possessed a Dragon’s heart.”

The words resonated within Grea, causing her to shiver in delight. It seemed so shameful but she couldn’t stop, nor did she want to. Her love’s voice all she wished to hear. This was the love she was destined for her entire life. This was why she was so disconnected from other humans. She was more than human, but a Dragon as well.

She felt claws emerging from what were once her fingernails on her right hand, turning charcoal black and sharpening as they punctured the sand under the water. The trail of scales seemed to finally halt just below her elbow, her left arm undergoing no similar changes. Grea’s identity was not so simply within her head and the waters knew this. Sure she was Dragon, but also human. She was something beautifully in-between, an outcast, but one who Egan loved all the same.

Her Dragon side’s sharpening instincts told her to turn around, feeling Egan’s mind growing excited as well. That is when she saw her love’s enormous, ribbed cock trembling, he approaching her with drawn out breathes. He was failing to keep his composure as well.

“My, my Egan… How? How can this possibly work?” Grea worried, her size being dwarfed by him.

“Relax my Grea. Soak in the warmth from the waters. Set free your Dragon heart.” Egan encouraged, stopping his approach a bit behind the agitated, horny maiden. He would restrain himself a bit longer and wait for his love to come into her own.

Grea turned away and stared out into the beautiful waters and landscape before her, senses going wild and becoming heightened. She commanded her body to let go, to let her true self free. Tear down every defense, shelter herself no more, she could taste freedom and she was going to seize it!
She cried out, a pleasurable current spreading fast across her entire body as she felt the Dragon side of her soul roar resistant against the prison that had held it back all its life. A slight growl resonated out through her blissful human moans. This greatly pleased Egan, who became even more eager to enter his mate, but knew he must hold back as her body was still not ready. Fortifying a stone wall within himself to hold back the lustful force rising from his guts like a billowing flame, he grew nervous. This was surprisingly the hardest task life had ever dealt him.

To Egan’s delight though, the changes hastened, the panting Grea’s thin, graceful body filling out in all the areas meant to entice. Her chest heaved forward, bulbous girth filling her modestly sized bust, bringing some extra weight to her chest that she had to admit felt awkward. But the pleasure coursing through the tips of her fattening nipples made it easy to ignore and soon she found herself begging for more in her mind, feeling too embarrassed to do so out loud. However, her mental link with Egan meant he could hear all.

“They have ripened quite well my Grea.” Egan complimented. “Your bosom now hangs and sways like the fruits of the high branches that all the animals here crave. I believe I finally understand their appeal.”

“S-Stop, please...” Grea timidly stuttered, before another crashing wave of ecstasy seized her body, unleashing her Dragon’s cry once more. Every utterance from Egan made her heart flutter and body lose control.

She rocked back and forth as the fires inside raged, snuffing out every erogenous zone with a scorching touch. Her breasts gave another kick, becoming large and heavy enough that the swirling motions they made tugged more noticeably at her torso. They gained a teardrop shape and lost all sense of the firmness they once had. Tender, malleable flesh had taken over completely, the surface of each breast rippling each time an additional layer of fat was added.

Right as Grea’s chest began to halt in its growth, Egan noticed a new target billowing with bountiful human flesh, an area of much interest to him. The small, undercarriage, her hips, ass, and thighs, were all thickening and widening, bones and cartilage crackling and popping during the magnificent process. Egan worried it might be too much an ordeal for his mate, but her elated moans and flushed face told him not to worry—so did her satisfied pleas for even more beauty that were penetrating his thoughts. She even let out a cute snarl or two, her vocal chords allowing for even more Dragonic resonances.

Fed by her lust, her hips snapped extremely wide, dwarfing the width of her midsection above. The muscle and fat in her hips and ass bloated up throughout the excruciating process, inflating with hard-cushioned mass. Both thighs pulsated violently, eating away at the large gap between Grea’s legs like walls closing in. The coalescing flesh, the firming meat below the skin, all of it was giving birth to a large, throbbing derriere that was her Dragon’s heart given form. Within that heart lied the plump, salivating lips of Grea’s consent. She felt ready, her body having grown in all the right places to receive Egan’s love. Her womb had never felt emptier and the ravenous Dragon within her wanted it to be filled. It steeled her mind and gave her the confidence to speak out in a manner she never thought possible. No more hiding, she too was a Dragon!

“Graaah! Raaaah!! So warm! Oh, it feels wonderful!” Grea growled, her eyes looking sharp and wild for the first time in her life. “My Egan! Enter me! Enter me my love!”

It was the words Egan was waiting for, his own wild lust shattering all mental barriers at his love’s beckoning call. He could sense there was more of the Dragon inside her yet to be unleashed physically, but mentally she was free. The Dragon that he had sensed inside her that first time he gazed at her all those years ago had just called out to him. He had always had a curiosity for the nontraditional, an adventurous spirit that took him down many interesting paths. It was only fitting this human Dragon would end up his mate.

Rising up on his hind legs, Egan flung his front legs out in celebration, giving a thunderous roar that shook the trees and created waves, fire funneling out from his maw towards the heavens. Landing back into his hovering position over Grea, the ground shook, the tremors creating a shockwave throughout her body that made her pent-up pussy squirt.

Following an orgasmic trill, Grea praised, “Powerful and full of grace you are my Egan. I would wish for no other than you to claim meYAAAHH!!”

Egan, while appreciative of her words, wasted no time entering her with his bumpy, ribbed cock, replacing her praise with pained howls of unity. Through their mental link he could tell she loved it, the harsh entering and the tight fit of his cock. Despite her now larger womb and sturdier snatch, Grea’s size difference to Egan was still vast, his mighty girth stretchering her as wide as a gopher hole, much to her obscene delight. She was over the moon, and only half of Egan had filled her!

The rest of him came slowly, each ridge and bump along the surface of his shaft a restraint being ripped away, the pleasure only heightening. Wider and wider her pussy was stretched with each gradual nudge, her transforming body’s endurance staggering to her. Oh did she cherish it though, every movement, every smoldering exhale from her Egan on her backside. So much of her was being filled, so much of her mind’s passions were melding with his, they were truly becoming one in this loving moment—one body, one soul. This was a love far above the experiences held by mere humans, and she was thankful for it.

It was more than simply Grea’s heart being changed through Egan’s siege of her womb, as the dragon woman’s tailbone was growing larger and lifting the skin up above her bottom. It pushed hard in a quick few instances, separating itself into its own state of being, a small tail now flopping about with seemingly a mind of its own, but a mind very much in sync with Grea’s emotional condition. She knew she had control over it, yet like everything with her body right now it moved with a instinctual response very much not under her control.

With each new layer of Egan’s cock that entered her, a new vertebrae formed along the lengthening tail extending out from her spine. The skin being stretched taut began to stick to the protruding mass, the texture toughening into a maroon Dragon hide on the top half with diamond scales as its pattern, while the bottom half became white, rough, leathery segments that looked like the underside of a snake. All the while she could feel it fattening and becoming thicker, each passing second more muscle coiling around the appendage. She relished the growing strength, already noticing it was by far the strongest musculature in her body now. The tail lashed triumphantly behind her and she moaned at the feeling of strength it gave her, every new inch of length causing her to shudder with arousal. Despite never having functioned with a tail, it felt right to feel the thick muscles twist behind her. She was meant for this, and her tail gleefully slapped at the water’s surface in agreement.

Matching the tail’s strength was how highly sensitive it was, the sexual response of it rivaling her other prominent erogenous zones. The mere brushing of Egan’s hard-scaled underbelly across its length enough for her to twinge in her flustered state. Grea was close to an earth shattering orgasm, each tense of her ass and swing of her tail a constant reminder of the buildup. The tail was finally halting in its growth, looking impressive at half a foot in diameter where it met her firm buttocks and tapering into a thin delicacy at the tip. It was nearly as long as she was tall too. It reached the end of its journey alongside Egan’s cock, the last few ridges forcing their way into her. Her body could take no more, her lower abdomen engorged from the sheer size of what had entered her.

Grea screamed her love’s name as tremors throttled her body. Egan stood still and let her squirm, her spasms lasting a full minute before they settled down. Within the throes of the orgasm Grea roared and cried, “By the gods! I… I feel every twitch! We are at last one my Egan.”

A self-approving smile formed as Grea coiled her tail sensuously behind her, the scaly top teasing Egan’s underside. Suddenly the tail stiffened, Grea’s body reacting to another growth, this time from the sides of her head above her temples. She was reeling both vocally and mentally, the chaos within her transmitting to Egan as well. Two, sharp edges sprouted from the flesh of her head, the vibrations rattling her entire skull since they were directly rooted to it. This caused her to clamp hard onto Egan’s cock and her eyes to roll into the back of her head.

“Be strong my Grea.” Egan softly cheered. “Your human senses are merely evolving. Embrace it… welcome it…”

The horns quickly spiraling like a drill and taking shape upon Grea were like dowsing rods to the environment around her—she could sense the vibrations of the air and landscape through them. Her ears began to lengthen as well, the top of them sharpening into finer points that continued to pull further out from her head, widening all the inner features and flattening the helixes and lobes. The softer sounds of the world were now captured with more clarity, the fuller, beautiful spectrum bringing tears to her eyes.

Grea’s tearful eyes rolled forward once more, the pupils dilating as they too were blessed with the Dragon’s touch. The colors of the world looked more vibrant and alive, sights that were usually blurry from very far away coming into detailed focus as if they were right in front of her, the field of vision making everything feel brand new. A smile returned to her face, her body starting to settle once more. Her horns finished their growth, raised upwards on her head, thick and sturdy and curled forward at the tips. They possessed an earthy tone that looked as rich as the soil of the flourishing woods surrounding them.

“You are more beautiful than ever my Grea. And the flames in yours eyes shine even brighter.” Egan tenderly spoke, seeing Grea gaze up at him with a soft smile while she panted. Then in unison, their mind’s spoke as one.

You are now my world…

Egan then quickly pulled partially out and thrust forward with his full weight, slamming the mighty shaft all the way through the entrance of Grea’s womb. Grea’s head barely held above the water as waves rippled violently outward from her and Egan, their cries carrying the winds further out, rustling the trees as their their love making truly began. Back and forth they swayed, Grea pinned below taking all of her mate with each heave, nearly the full head of his cock entering her chambers each time. The shape of the reptilian rod visibly showed against her belly whenever he entered deep, the skin stretching to its shape, her insides stirring. Despite the extreme deformity though, her body valiantly withstood the punishment. The tears shed by Grea were nothing but pure joy, her heart singing through the violent, primal fuck. She did feel a bit surprised that such a ravenous, thirsty side of her existed. It was as if all the stress, shame, and anger that had built up all her life was given wings and able to take flight. And while Egan dominantly pounded away at her, that symbolic weight of taking flight began to materialize more physically as two rising humps on her upper back between the shoulder blades.

Grea rolled her shoulders, feeling a pressure blooming across her back out from the tenting growths. What was a Dragon without her wings she thought while leaning forward, using her tail to help her balance amid the continuing dance with her Egan. Each shoulder blade shifted slightly in order to make way for new bones pressing out. Much like the process with her tail, the new appendages sent blissful tremors throughout her, their sensitivity nearly as intoxicating. It wasn’t long before two spiked tips pierced the skin, opening up her flesh for two long rods that were connected to those tips to emerge and stretch out from her shoulders. The thin, brown arms stretched longingly towards the sky brandishing wet, leathery flaps that were quickly drying out under the sun and the heat of Egan’s lively breathing. The sun’s light shined through the materializing membranes of the wings serenely like the thin leaves of a tree, the light casting through frolicking along the water’s surface. A few more loud cracks and more joints formed and allowed her to flex and stretch her 5ft wingspan, right as she could feel the freeing pleasure within her reach a plateau. At last, she was complete.

Both sensing her completion, the lovers roared and Egan gave a final mighty thrust that he held in place within her, slammed into the far walls of her womb. She roared as she was wracked by the most intense orgasm she’d ever felt. Holding herself on all fours in the water for minutes she let wave after wave of electric pleasure ripple and the simmering warmth of Egan’s cum fill her—copious amounts of spunk unable to pack in splurting out into the lake. Their bond complete, their lives forever entwined, Grea and Egan drifted into an embrace…

AGE 80

Grea approached the King of Bowersdale, the latest in a growing number of Kingdoms she had forged relationships with between Dragon and humankind. She never did reconcile with her father or her people, but she had achieved a growing peace nonetheless long after their passing. She was the bridge between Dragons and humans, her and Egan a beacon of understanding. Kingdoms had flourished through the aid of Dragons and Dragons in turn saw their numbers grow once more during this time. Grea was accompanied by two of the new generation, her and Egan’s offspring, one older, one a mere child. They both looked very much human with dragon features like their mother, though the scales and rough reptilian skin were more prominent on their bodies. They were the one’s who could continue to carry their parent’s legacy beyond their deaths, to keep this peace for ages to come.

“Ah, I see you brought one of the little ones today.” The King said, giving a sensitive smile, eyes closed as to not spook the skittish child.

Grea, looking as if she had not aged a day aside from the air of maturity that now radiated from her, patted her child on the back and said, “Come now, introduce yourself dear. These are our friends. No need to show fear.”

The handsomely dressed child stepped forward, his haircut mirroring his mother’s slightly, hair and eye color matching his father’s scales.

“I-I… I’m Arboria good sir. It is my pleasure to meet you.”

Grea smiled brightly at her son’s delivery. She had come so far with Egan from that first day they met. She never could have imagined changing the world as she did. The first day she had gazed at a Dragon flying above her, she knew they were creatures worth admiring, worth saving. It was that day when her Dragon heart first stirred.
